The Green Mountain Boys flag, also known as the Stark Flag was created by John Stark. This flag represented the militia organization that was established in 1770 in the territory later known as the Vermont Republic (which later became the state of Vermont). This territory was between two British Providences, New York & New Hampshire.
Today, this is still used as a regimental flag of the Vermont National Guard unit.
