Montana State Flag
Montana was the 41st state to join the Union in November 8, 1889. Today's state flag is a blue background with the state seal (a plow, shovel, and pick rest in a field in front of the Great Falls of the Missouri River). The ribbon on the bottom of the seal is the state motto, "Oro y plata" which is Spanish for "Gold and Silver".
